Allison Larsen, California: “Baby Bites came to me as an answer to prayer. Will has been a finicky eater since he was an infant. Since we have begun to follow the Baby Bites Steps, now five-year-old Will, touches, smells, and licks most foods. Try is a favorite part of mealtime and if Try asks him to, Will usually will take a baby bite of the new food without a fuss. He has since tasted broccoli, zucchini, asparagus, and snap peas. These aren’t on his preferred foods list yet, but we are heading in that direction. Mealtimes are far more enjoyable and I feel like I have a game plan to follow!”

Judy McCombs, Parker, Parker, Colorado: “I’m really impressed with Baby Bites. I especially like the information on health and recipes! I think you should change the title to target a broader audience, because the book is beneficial for adults as well as children.

Donna S., Head Start teacher, California: I’m so glad to receive your Baby Bites Ezine. I’m starting to post your articles on my parent board. I’m appalled that some parents feed their kids so much junk. The excuse I always hear is, “My child won’t eat anything, so I let them eat what they like, at least they’re eating.”

The parents always tell me on the first conference I have with them, their child probably won’t eat at school. They’re right for the first 2 to 3 weeks. Then, I start to see a transformation with the kids. They get use to our routine of putting everything on their plate at breakfast, lunch and snack times. They begin to taste the food that they would never touch before, and almost all of them drink their milk!

Today, at lunchtime I asked some of the children, who are still real picky eaters, what do you eat for dinner at home? They said Cheetos, cookies, crackers, apple juice, and bread! They probably are served other foods, too, but this is what they recall. I’m sure this is what they eat the most often. You’re doing such amazing work, with trying to reach EVERYONE, even those with low incomes. For children eating healthy foods means a healthy mind to learn and flourish.
