I think that this was great proof of how nasty McDonald's is, though me and my family don't eat fast food anyway. We grow our own veggies :)

Hmmm… looks like you made yourself some beef jerky, croutons and dehydrated potatoes. Betty Crocker says you can add some milk, butter and cheese powder to the potatoes and make a nice casserole. Jack link likes to pepper and teriyaki up dried beef and package it up for snacking. Croutons are nicer if you season them and add them to a salad, but you can use them in a meatloaf or stuffing in a pinch. And remember what your Mama said,”Don’t waste food, because there are starving children in Ethiopia who would be happy to have it!!”

"organic chinese" is not racist. The fact is there are two types of morality in China. Morality that is applied to ones family and friends and a completely separate morality that is applied in business situations. The only morality that applies in business is maximizing profit. If telling a lie means making more money it isn't wrong, it is business. Go and ask people who live in China and you'll find this out that they don't trust each other at all.

Does everyone run a business with this type of morality in China? Probably not all but it certainly seems to be the norm.

The problem isn't isolated to China either. Machiavelli proposed a similar morality for politics in the west that many business leaders follow as well.

Please stop being naive. I certainly wouldn't believe a product from China labeled as organic was organic.

Not just any Vitamin D, what's important is Vitamin D3. It's the best form of D available. D1 and D2 which are added to our foods do not provide the same benefits as Vitamin-D3.

I just have to share this with your readership. The FDA pulled 340 children's and women's vitamins and tested them for lead. 100% tested POSITIVE for lead. Yikes. Here is the link to http://www.fda.gov/Food/FoodSafety/FoodContaminantsAdulteration/default.htm. You know me and since I am with Shaklee, we 100% guarantee what's in our products (safe, certified pure, effective) but we also guarantee what's NOT in our products such as harmful and toxic ingredients that can cause more harm than they are meant to prevent in the first place.

Our local Costco carries frozen organic broccoli , "product of china" that sometimes suspiciously looks like it contains green food coloring. I stopped buying it immediately. Read labels carefully before you trust anything anyone says or "recommends", especially when you are trying to feed your family the best things you can. We have plenty of organic broccoli farmers right here in the USA.

****
Thanks for the reminder. I have to remember to check the "country of origin" on Costco's organic vegetables more often, because it changes. The broccoli in my freezer says Ecuador and the green beans are grown in the USA.

If this grocery list is your first look at Baby Bites, I can see where some of the items might be a little confusing. I tried to include items most parents regularly purchase. If you notice I suggest "whole grain" pancake mix and fish sticks with the least amount of ingredients. It would be easier to purchase these at a whole foods store. If you shop at a regular grocery store, find the most nutritious item available. The grocery list is just a starting point for purchasing whole foods. I don't recommend using ANY mixes or packaged foods. Yet, I understand that most parents need a bridge to whole foods.
